Such a sweet composition, really. But sadly, I can’t say the same about this anime.

However equivocal the title’s claim might sound to you, I think it makes most sense in the case of Basquash. Not so much for its actual tragic content, but for the painful, epic tragedy my viewing experience of this whole anime has become.

Well, after one week of getting used to my new environment here at Brighton (delicious uni proxy:80, 6 MByte/s DDLs and a Love Plus-similar situation which I swiftly explained on my twitter), I think it is finally time to start clearing the summer backlog!

Chaos.

It is always nice to be surprised by such a seemingly boring anime, which turns out to become one of the best shows of the summer season.

Not to repeat myself on what I’ve said in my previous impressions of this anime, I’ll just focus a little on this concept of realism.

Yes, Ritsu. They are guitars. You deserve a cookie.

After hearing all this whoop-la about K-ON!, I broke down and actually waste some time watching. I went into this session with some sad misconception that this was a show about a J-pop girl group, all emotional and over-dramatized, and their struggles to be accepted as real people, find love etc… not actual musicians trying to form a coherent act and to not suck.

You can check out my half-way through Mushi-shi post to get an idea of what I thought of Mushi-shi after 13 episodes. Well 13 episodes later, not much has changed.
