We couldn’t have dreamt of a better way to celebrate our move to a new host and domain than hearing the great news that neko’s thinkbox has been accepted into 9rules!
The results were out not even a day after the move, but there were still some formalities to take care of. All the better, since it took us a little while to get accustomed to this faster place… ;)
Whether the join requirements and the screening are (less) strict (nowadays), and whether 9rules is overrated or not is up for debate (not on my watch, though)[1] but either way – we’re extremely proud to have made it through the 150 applicants (it was our first try, too!).
This has been the first recognition this blog has ever gotten in almost three years, too.[2]
Hopefully, entering this new realm of blogging[3] will be an even higher motivation to improve the quality (and frequency?[4] ) of our content so we can entertain you, the reader, and hopefully get you thinking as well (without thinking too hard, this ain’t college). We love watching anime and write for fun, but we also love to hear your precious input, so please keep at it! It’s all part of broadening each others’ views, or something like that…. hum. Arr, I am not really a sucker for cheesy lines, so I think I’ll just skip the speech.
Thanks to the 9rules staff for taking their time to appreciate and acknowledge neko’s thinkbox, and, most importantly, a big thank you to all our (faithful) readers for staying with us!
We hope you will all enjoy reading this blog in the future, too. ;)

Yep, quite a nice week. New webspace, domain, 9rules, 3 new figs… Heh, I really have to celebrate that. ;)
Congratulations!
I was checking 9rules blog a few days ago and noticed your site on the accepted list. I didn’t follow 9rules that closely so I missed out on the round.
I found it funny since it was not even 24 hours after I completely moved the blog to nekosthinkbox.com… Yeah, I submitted the new address before actually using it. But at that time I was already planning to leave ab, so I simply set the domain to do very basic redirection to animeblogger, heh.
Yeah, I was pretty surprised to see the blog on the very top of the list (not that the order matters at all, though xD). To be honest, I didn’t think we would make it, but then again that’s because I know I’m lazy as heck, I know this blog is unpopular, etc etc – but the 9rules guys didn’t know that. Guess my enthusiastic description and recommended posts made a good impression on them. :D

Eh, did you apply for this round? Because I absolutely cannot imagine your blog NOT being picked… that would be horrible, since your posts are by far more interesting than mine. Unless… they didn’t want to bother with the tl;dr? …ugh, I post tl;dr as well. Tough luck, really.

Thanks! Well, I know 9rules from way back, when THAT got it, everyone was like “whoaaaaaaa awsum kkkk pro.” I guess those days, having that leaf meant that your blog’s something reaaaaally important or so. Don’t know how it is today, although I often hear “been there, done that, meh, nothing special, just another aggregator, etc”.
