Just what could Hisui be looking at…?

Stupid question, at least for those who follow my twitter – a small patch of colorful tulips alongside a road not far from my house. I had discovered it yesterday on my way to the shopping mall, and I found it would be the best place to do some overdue photoshooting with my figurines. Couldn’t really do it with my outdated 4.1 Mpx Sony CyberShot camera, so I got myself a Canon EOS 1000D. This was the best occasion to test my new camera out – and I’m quite pleased with the results!

I hovered between the standard EF-S 18-55mm IS lens and a 50mm EF 1,8 lens. Can’t really tell which pictures were taken with which lens, but I feel that the best ones were taken with the EF one. Of course, I lack any experience with DSLRs and most of the settings, so I screwed up a little here and there, especially with the variable lighting conditions; I eventually had to throw away half of the pictures. Also, for Index’s pictures, I kind of forgot to change the White Balance because it clouded over, and I didn’t save any RAW pictures either. But human beings usually learn from their mistakes, right? I shall gain more XP and make even madder pictures in the future. Anyway, hope you’ll enjoy these few pictures! (Took as many figs as my backpack allowed it…)

I gave in after all. I'm sorry, Kohaku.

But I kind of like this broom. May I keep it?

Nice camera. I’m looking to buy a new camera too but I suppose if I want a nice one it has to be big and bulky with a fat lens xD

  2. Ryan A says:

Wow the last shot looks fake almost! Hisui and Kohaku look so pleasant in the color-patch :) Alicia~!

That lense you have is nutzo-rad.

  3. kimagure says:

Very nice. Is that a slug in the first pic with Shiki in it? Up and to her left in the first pic.

I really wanted to get the Shiki figurine, just missed out on it.

  4. TJ says:

Yes we can always use more Aria-sachou.

I see you have a figure of Index… no Biri-biri lol?

Oh excellent… I remember talking to you on twitter about getting DSLRs… These are sweet pictures and I am really enamored by Hisui, kohaku and Shiki XD.. also, the plant life looks so nice, the local plant life looks nowhere as good in my area, and i had missed the sakura blossoming by about 2 weeks when i got my camera which frustrates me to no end.

I myself have only really been trying my DSLR on non-otaku stuff as my figures are back at my folk’s place which I am pretty far from now at University. Hopefully the anime expo this weekend will change it a bit. Do wish I had another lens or two though…

Also, remind me to properly dust my figurines. My negligence is horrible. T_T Probably hard to see in the resized pictures, but it’s clearly visible in the original sized pictures… AGENAI! XP

  7. ETERNAL says:

    Nice shots! I’ve definitely got to practice my photography this summer, there’s still a lot that I don’t know ;_;

  8. The flowers are too beautiful to be true.

  9. Rakuen says:

I got depressed seeing them images– Reminds me that I have NO TIME.

  10. nekosasu says:

Oh WOW I didn’t notice it at all! Nice observation skills! o.ob

  11. nekosasu says:

No money, and I don’t really like that fig anyway. I have high hopes Kagaku no Choudenjibou will motivate them to do another, cuter Railgun fig.

  12. nekosasu says:

Thanks! I’m glad you like them.

Actually, I was pretty surprised to see those tulips there as well, because my town usually is not so much about flowers either. It was only that small patch of flowers, too. Better than nothing, though, and it still looks marvelous. (Though it’s just above a graveyard… haha… x_x)

So many cons around the world now. Wish I could attend one in my life… My country totally sucks for that kind of stuff. I’d need to go to Germany, but there it’s all about mainstream shit like Pokemon, Yugioh, Naruto, etc, so… meh. :|
