My experience on K-ON, watched first 3eps on widescreen and actually liking it. The art is fairly good (no, I don't care about Moe, Homer and Duff, no I'm not a Haruhist or Lucky Star-ist), but I guess it's the script that does it. I'd stick this into the comedy genre as the script is fairly basic and easy to laugh over.

The ED animation is quality - so I got the full song. The Engrish pronounciation kills it. Worthless without the animation - seriously.

You'd be surprised about how much controversial/trollposts can get quick attention, especially in a blogosphere that's mainly filled with like-minded blockheads who, as RyanA correctly stated below, blew it out of proportion.

I admit, K-On may have its merits, I probably jumped the gun on my prejudice, but it's definitely not worth the overrated bullshit I hear here and there (and I really tried not to pay attention to it, but it's so hard to overlook fanwhorism). I don't like to be disappointed by a mediocre series, especially when people are this vehement about it. It's exactly for these guys that I decide to be against the grain. Nothing about wanting to be an elitist fuckwad or a dumb bitch (because I can very well elaborate on my choices, everyone deserves an opinion if it's justified), it's to show how utterly retarded people can become when they exalt an anime that is average in comparison to other series - and all they have in their defense is "moe". Sorry, but that doesn't just cut it for me. But as I said, there are good points, so I will spare thee.

Nevertheless, I'd watch Eden over K-On any-fucking-time. I'm taste is my taste. Live with it.

Hatsukoi Limited - It's funny, girls are funny and attractive creatures.

Eden of the East - Quality all around, I've not even moved onto the second episode O.o

K-On! - After the first episode, the thing that stood out the most was the ED, seriously. The characters are KyoAni fashion, but I think the general motivation is satisfying enough (starting a band, maintaining a light-music club).

Arashi - It was good, I'm waiting until Summer season begins to go ahead with this one.

Good perspectives! Also, K-On! receives so much praise simply for the characters being cute, but it does have some fun/funny moments, but I don't feel it's something revolutionary, super touching, etc. It's not hard for me to smile about it though. Next episodes get better imo, but some of the stuff was blown out of proportion by the blogosphere.

Talking shit about a show because it's popular doesn't make you cool, it makes you an elitist fuckwad who doesn't deserve an opinion. So I'm glad you were more true to yourself and didn't act like a dumb bitch.

That said, you're taste still sucks if you like Eden of the East more than K-On.

Yeah, I was a lot more bashful when I finished my first draft about K-On!, but, well, I started having second thoughts after all. Mostly because indeed, I was able to relate to my own personal experience, and I did also smile here and there at the lukewarm jokes and the SD moe. As much as I'd have loved to screw over those KyoAni fans, I couldn't just have ignored my own feelings and be even more biased and hypocritical than I already am.

However, I still claim that K-On! does not deserve the appraisal it receives in the blogosphere. It's simply and blatantly overrated. As I said, there are plenty more episodes where I can drop my venom on.

Hmm I was expecting a great deal of bashing on the K-ON! series but instead there was a half-hearted answer but then again I might be wrong on that statement.

Anyways, I found the summary reviews to be rather good. Thanks for your input and will be looking forward for more of this.
