Goodbye, or The Day I Left Home

D-1, my last day at home. Venice, I’ll soon be yours.
As I’ve mentioned it so often, I enrolled at the Università Ca’ Foscari in Venice last November. Now that the term will be starting in exactly one week, I will be leaving home tomorrow in order to move into my dorm room in the Giudecca area, and try to settle into that new environment before the real deal begins.
I have already been in a dorm for 8 years (the entirety of my secondary school time), but since it was relatively close, I returned home every weekend. But now that I will be over 1000 kilometres from home, I won’t be able to return that often anymore – RyanAir plane tickets are indeed cheap, but the entire travel simply takes too much time. Of course, I will go home during extended holidays, whenever possible.
Now, it’s confirmed, I will have internet access (probably through a restrictive filter proxy) in my room, so don’t go hoping I will vanish just like that – rest assured, I will keep annoying you guys with my angsty, schizophrenic tl;dr posts for a long time yet. ;P
All I am hoping for is that I can at least download a couple of anime episodes from there, or at least manage to finish certain ongoing series (especially Tora Dora, now that I’ve caught up to it) before starting to plow through the tons of backup anime on my DVDs.
(gah, I already didn’t get much sleep this morning, too wktk excited, and now I feel so tired and my mother’s very very angsty because I’m leaving tomorrow, keeps asking me how skype and facebook work… arghghgrhahgh ~.~ by the way it’s her birthday today so happy bday mom! :D)
So that’s it, I suppose this will be my last post from home. Should I be unable to access my blog at times, I will update my Twitter account over text messages. Keep an eye out for updates! Also check out this page.
But this wouldn’t be neko’s thinkbox if this post wasn’t at least five pages long, so… here are some pics of Megami Magazine #106, the very last I will get for a long while. After five years and almost sixty issues, I finally decided to cancel the subscription.
In recent times, I don’t even read it anymore – just browse through the posters and some colorful images upon delivery, and then toss it onto the pile of magazines that are littered in the corner of my room. Quite an expensive fun, as I always end up paying almost 3 times its worth because of those damned shipping and handling fees (J-List wasn’t really the cheapest out there either…) Now that I will be leaving home anyway, it would be totally pointless to keep receiving those magazines any further.
Amongst these pictures, a little selection of the posters I liked the best.

Megami Magazine #106 cover – Nagi-sama and Zange-sama!

Megami Magazine #106 summary page – not many interesting posters this time

Megami Magazine #106 Pencil board side A – although I like pettankos, Tsugumi is much cuter than Nagi

Megami Magazine #106 Pencil board side B – same pose as on the cover. Those shitajikis are perfect for A4 scanners, btw.

Megami Magazine #106 Shugo Chara poster – very cute, for once no fanservice as is the custom in MegaMag
![]() Please, Gainax, put an end to this. Please. |
![]() An Index is fine too. But where’s my Komoe FFS! |
![]() This should be a poster, really. |
![]() Preview for #107… which I won’t get. |
…maybe because this is the last one, I might actually enjoy reading it thoroughly now? Ah well. Too bad for those Tora Dora posters I will not receive anymore. I will so fucking rage if there will be a Minorin B2 poster in the next issue. Gah, I don’t even want to think about it. But I should always be able to order single issues if need be. Ah well.
Allright, I’m done. neko, checking out.

Again, Good Luck in Venice! Maybe I’ll be there too a few years later!
(“What? You can go to Neo-Venezia every effing time you want using my space-time vortex in the bedroom, why you want to go to Venice?” – Solais)
Shut up, chump, as a neo-venezian you should know what the word “Nostalgia” means!
Geez, I know he’s only comes every 3 months, but he’s annoying!
(“Look who’s talking!” – Solais)
How dare you talk back to your grand-grand-grand-grandfather?
Sheesh. Descendants these days. -.-
Ooops, no BB. ^^”"”"
Lucky Bastardo :P Liked your new Neko @ Venice subsection.
There’s always the Eden of Anime, the Power of Lolis, the RC of I (hopefully), and another great DDL site which I’ve forgotten for your anime needs – I did survive living a year in a University dorm afterall :P
Importantly, store your 1337 rig somewhere cool, dark and dry. I fried my rig after studying overseas.
My attempt at Bamboo Blade. :P

I agree with the gainax thing….they gotta stop and make something decent for once to milk off of.
