Happy New Year 2009 from Neko’s Thinkbox

PEW PEW FIARWORKS!

Hello folks, It’s time to bid this very tumultuous (sic) year 2008 goodbye, and to welcome the new year 2009 which promises to be even more upside down!

I don’t know what your New Year’s resolutions are, if you even have resolutions at all. I always thought I would keep mine, but in the end it all boiled down to a hypocritical naught. But for the sake of completeness (also perhaps of good conscience), I will state mine.

Can you guess the first one? Of course, watch more anime. 2008 was partly proficient, but as you can see on the chart in this post, there were many months without any kind of meaningful activity besides gaming and whoring about my Venice trips (the last of which I’m most probably not even going to report about anymore because slowking.jpg).

Looks like there’s gonna be activity SPIKES!

If I am not going to do a aloe,dream-like marathon, I want to catch up at least to the three series I was blogging about – Tora Dora, To Aru Majutsu no Index, and Hyakko. Perhaps I’ll even watch Kannagi because, you know I have an increased interest in pettankos (and since it had always been airing after Toaru anyway, I watched it as well).

Do I have another resolution? Yes, and it’s of a more complicated nature which might involve the future of this blog. Since I will be studying in Venice starting February, I don’t know if I will have internet access at my expensive lodging there; the ESU still has to reply to my mail from two weeks ago, and as you can see, their page contains a LOT of information right now. So yeah, depending on access or not, I might be very restricted on posting on this blog or not (not that it ever mattered to anyone, because nobody reads it anyway, or offered any helping hand).

No, I’m not going to become an Undine… yet.

Also, if there will be, my future posts from Venice will most likely concern life in Venice, and constant comparisons to ARIA like on this blog. As much as it is related to an anime, Venice might obviously not be of anyone’s interest. So therefore, if I have enough motivation, I might create a small blog about Venice then, next to Neko’s Thinkbox. (If so, NTB will have even less filler posts now ;o; d’aww.)

And a final resolution… Soon enough, on the 17th I believe this blog will hit its immemorable second birthday, so until then… I’ll post… five, no, TEN a couple of times. I think another resolution would be to keep doing things at my own pace, probably contradicting my first resolution… Another resolution would be to sound less contradictory. Perhaps I should also be a little more verbose to make me sound like a smartass. Boy, the resolutions keep flowing in!

Either way, once again a very happy new year 2009, and may some god, goddess or (im)moral entity bless you.

Akeome~

(By the way I’m two hours early, but even if I’m alone at home tonight I’m not gonna stay in front of my computer at midnight. Need to look at the pewpew fireworks outside, with a nice glass of champagne. :3)
