Hyakko Episode 2
BRING IT ON!

Back with some more slapstick!

Today’s episode was pretty funny. Our four girls spend an entire day trying to find a suitable club to join, and go from baseball to tennis over to basketball, from sports to tea ceremony and even ikebana – Ayumi, Tadzuki and Suzu go wherever… Torako drags them to. She is the driving force of the group, and my thoughts of the first episode are confirmed: her proactiveness gets to Tadzuki very badly, and that causes the most hilarious situations.

Already in the beginning, Tadzuki’s anger level rises and rises as she keeps being ignored by Torako, and her attempts to take the lead of the group all fail. And during this whole episode, all Torako does in sports is throwing stuff at Tadzuki (baseball to the hip, tennis racket to the face, basket ball to the belly…) and injuring her. Poor Tadzuki, seeing her pride being trampled on like that makes me laugh a lot xD

Ayumu lacked a bit of presence in this episode, despite her occasional cute apologies to the other club members. Suzu was a little bit more active, she was hilarious during baseball and basketball (she’s a real ball wizard!).

It was a nice and fun episode, as expected from a slapstick comedy – however I found some jokes pretty repetitive and predictable (the entire “hurting Tadzuki” pattern was a bit overused in the end).

At least there were some interesting sport references, like Wimbledon, or Ronaldinho.

Now that I remember, there was also a classmate, Touma Kazamatsuri, that got hardly introduced… heh, passing by.

Next episode features another classmate, some red-haired girl. YAY~

(Browsing through the seiyuu list (yes, this hypocrit does that sometimes after all) I realized that Curry/Pooper-senpai (aka Ciel aka Fumiko Orikasa) voices Torako. I’m hungry now, I feel like eating… curry rice.)

Curry??
Curry??
