I wonder what kind of a brainfart I was having when I doubleclicked on the first ep of Kodomo no Jikan…

Why did I even download it? Oh yeah, I remember now. I was lurking on PSquare on pangya and people started talking about it. And a few months earlier, there was heavy discussion about the manga not being released in the US, or something like that. And, lolis? Very yes. So I downloaded it. Another manga adaptation, and no, I have not read it yet. I am currently getting the scanlations though :P

So. Even before the opening you already get a nice peek into the classroom where the little girls are changing into their clothes after PE class, and Kokonoe with her Kuma pantsu. Heh… Nice Start.

The Pedobear background image for the sponsor presentation sure made me laugh. The producers definitely knew what kind of audience they would be targeting, which is why they caught that image oh so associated to lolikon pictures… All the more, I did not find that picture again in this whole episode. Can I assume that everyone who watches it is a lolikon, a lolikon-to-be or a 2ch/4ch tard?

Well… What is there to discuss about this first episode anyway, story-wise… Some guy becomes a school teacher and it’s his first first day, 2 lolis in his class, soon 3 with his input, and at least one (Kokonoe) seems to be quite interested in him. For now. *cough*
Other than that… The end of the episode was most probably every lolikon’s dream… I think in future it’s going to be ****tease deluxe, and I wonder if this story will ever evolve any further. Perhaps the opening gives me more hints about it: adult Kokonoe? Uh huh…
I literally ‘orz’-ed several times at the quite exaggerated puns in this anime. Kagami nonchalantly calling the teacher “VIRGIN!” in front of her colleague is so… embarrassing, and I am one who feels a lot with the characters… Still, I laughed a good deal in this episode. “Sensei, what is a finger blowjob?” Haha… That “byebye” “paipai” pun also was pretty amusing.

First off. Why the **** does obscene language get censored like that? The word ‘Virgin’ got drowned twice from the ringing tone of the teacher’s office telephone. If it hadn’t been for OTL’s explanations of that part, I wouldn’t even have any single clue on what was meant to be said. Or, that ‘finger blowjob’ example… And so many more. This is also where I give props to OTL, whose translators/editors must have read the manga before (however, the OP karaoke is lacking, and no translation… and where is my ED karaoke?? T_T)

AND HERE!!

THEN. WHY ALL OF THOSE VISUAL CENSORS??? As if it wasn’t enough to block the few written profane words (‘I want you to c*** inside me’ serious business), they had to cover up the pantsu shots, and perhaps the one or another munepettan, and what-not! Seriously, that’s bullshit!
If they are showing that crap at such late of an hour (1:20 AM local hour, as far as I know), then they can show a bit more than only a rotating logo! Hey, there are no children watching it at that time, so what’s the deal!! It’s as if we would get a weekly NICE BOAT ruining the fun. But as in many different anime series, all I can see behind this is commercial greed – I bet you the R2 dvd’s will be uncensored, and the curious (interested) people will buy it, of course! Oh lawds… where’s my facepalm.jpg?
