Claymore Episode 7

Awesome. After some very stressful days where I spent most of my time studying biology for my oral that took place this Friday afternoon, I finally got around to watch Claymore, albeit at a very late of an hour (4 AM now, I wonder…)
I’ll be digressing already, but I need to tell: The oral went quite well, although I felt so nervous that I really thought I was running in circles with my explanations… Not to mention the damn stutters and run-on sentences… Blaaah, I should control my temper. But I’m positive that I said about everything there was to say, the teachers didn’t ask further details, it might be a good grade. I hope, at least. Next stop: Next Thursday, Biology written exam. Main Subject, pixels, etc. Back to Claymore.
Please note: Due to finals, I’m not going to put up with writing long-winded summaries for the time being since that simply takes too much of my precious free/sleep/studying/procrastinating time. I’ll just stick with the pictures and my personal opinion, the well-known thinkbox. It’s not like you’d be reading the summary anyway (let alone miss it) ^^
Episode 7: The Mark of Death 「死者の烙印」
Next Episode: Awakening 「覚醒」

Breathing in, breathing out. This episode was once again filled with lots of action. As announced in episode 6, the four most powerful Claymores after Teresa are going after her… They were nicely introduced, we could immediately see what their respective strength was, except for Priscilla, whose power was hidden before the clash with Teresa. Good for the suspense, one wouldn’t really have expected such a clumsy and frail girl to nearly match Teresa’s skills. I immediately noticed that these Claymores are a lot more talkative, especially Priscilla and other Claymore with the spiky hair (they’re so hawt mmmmhh). Trivia or not, well, at least it shows me that not all of the Claymore are as apathic as Clare (although, that’s why I like her as well :3).
All we’ve been able to see in this episode were mostly one on one fights, Priscilla vs. Teresa. I wonder why they didn’t decide to attack Teresa at once during their battle. On the one hand, the others might have wanted to witness Priscilla’s powers, on the other hand, Priscilla might have wanted to fight alone. But if their goal was only to get Teresa’s head, any method would have helped… They’ve been too lenient on that one.
Actually, I think Priscilla is a walking oxymoron. Her sense of justice sure is praiseworthy, she should get a medal for that, but it doesn’t seem she has fully understood her mission. Sure, her oh so righteous mind would have understood the motive why Teresa killed the bandits, but since it was a violation of the ironclad rule, she cannot forgive her. That’s fine by me, orders are orders. So, Priscilla is dead angry at Teresa, for having killed humans, and one would suppose that such an impulsive Claymore like her would strike the enemy down without a second thought. Conversely, she feels rather ashamed about her own cowardice and does not attack Teresa from behind. Then comes the punch line, “Why didn’t your head fall at the execution site?” For such a righteous person like her, being there would have been the pits, since there were at least five Claymores to execute Teresa… Would she have cried foul there as well? Fuzakeruna!
And then, Priscilla, for being such a ditzy Claymore, is a bit too full of herself. Did she really think she could defeat the Number 1 by herself? If it hadn’t been for Nr 3, she’d have been dead already. Fool. *hugs*
However, things aren’t going well, sadly. I’m having kind of a bad premonition for the next episode. For Numbers 2 to 5 to unleash their Youma powers, things are really not looking too well for Teresa… But look at the title of the episode. ‘Awakening’. So, Teresa will make use of her Youma powers as well I suppose? Well, that was easy to guess. But what will now happen? I can figure out two main possibilities.
1. Teresa dies after a long battle. And Clare wants to follow her path and becomes a Claymore as well. OR
2. Teresa kills them all but cannot revert the flow of the Yoki anymore; ie. she can’t return to her human form and is about to transform entirely into a Youma. And then, she’ll ask Clare to kill her as long as she’s still human, and then Clare kills her and becomes Claymore or she doesn’t kill her and becomes Claymore to kill her and that’s how the story goes etc etc etc!
The Teresa arc is about to end next episode, so… Will we return to adult Clare and Raki and have some fun? There are absolutely no hints on how the story will continue afterwards… The suspense is culminating! Grrr!!!!!
Still, it’s a good thing I haven’t spoiled myself on the manga yet – It’s so tempting… Knowing that others already know what is going to happen is making me crazy, because I might look dumb making random hypotheses about what is going to happen in the next episodes… I need a big surprise! So I hope I’m wrong with my guesses. I should simply wait for the next episode and see for myself. When I will get the next episode I most probably will be already done with Biology and English…

I commend your ability to stay away from the manga. Stay this path. If I could, I’d love to forget everything I know, just to experience it again. The impact will be so much stronger… especially of the last 2 twists of the upcoming episode.
Wednesday you’ll know ;)
/me goes crazy

I myself also have not spoil myself by reading some manga! and yes it can be tempting but I’m saving it! You have just read my mind about the bad premonition. I myself do have a very bad feeling…possibly about Teresa dieing in the next episode! AND THAT SADDENS ME! She in fact was my favourite character with Clare coming in next.. Goes over the corner to sob =( Have a really bad feeling on what is going to be happening in episode 8…btw i don’t like Priscilla
Just recently found this site and wanted to add my thoughts to it :P
I have already read Claymore through it’s current translated volumes and I have to say, you will love this series. The next episode will no doubt combine the emotion of episode 6 and action of episode 7 >.
